Hi, I am Mel and I love…

collaborating

imagining &

creating

In the workmosphere, I’ve spent the last 20 years learning, leading, and designing—often relying on improv to craft fresh strategies, measure impact, and implement evaluations. I’ve managed and led community development, storytelling, and learning projects with incredible teams and organisations worldwide. I’ve earned a reputation as an innovative, lateral-thinking, sometimes-ridiculous practitioner. But what matters most to me is that respected change agents see me as a community-driven leader, a champion of others, and someone who stays deeply rooted in values. I care most about ensuring the people and places that matter most – remain the central voice in any project or activity meant for them.

With my BA in Community Development and a bunch of other professional certificates *accolades*, roles and experience under my belt, for over two decades I’ve contributed to the design and rollout of some pretty incredible projects and strategies. My favorite part of the job, remains the walking beside communities of change in practical ways- facilitating, sense-checking, synthesising and co-creating with them, in real time - as they continue doing their real-important work.

I’ve been involved in creating, leading, designing, testing, flopping, failing, reimagining, and embedding all sorts of learning & evaluation, impact measurement, listening and organisational partnership tools and approaches. However, IP & monetizing ain’t my jam, because;

1. I believe we inherit and contribute to knowledge systems—we don’t own or possess them.

2. Collective IP- Everything created, shared or launched into the world has been shaped by the work, words or actions of others. Those who came before, those tucked away in remote places, and those in the room where it happened *nerdy Hamilton quote.

3. We are creative beings, and the process of creating is often more important than the outcome. It should be as unique, bespoke & authentic as we all are. No ‘one size fits all’.
